Job Description:
BJs Wholesale Club, a leader in the wholesale retail sector in
the eastern U.S., is seeking a Director of International
Transportation to enhance our logistics and transportation
operations. This pivotal role focuses on optimizing our supply
chain and ensuring efficient, cost-effective movement of goods
across international borders. The successful candidate will ensure
that BJ's continues to offer high-quality products at low prices by
optimizing transport strategies and maintaining compliance with
international regulations. Develop and implement strategic
transportation and logistics plans to enhance efficiency and reduce
costs. Negotiate contracts and rates with shipping lines, airlines,
freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers. Manage and
maintain relationships with all external partners and service
providers involved in the international transportation process.
Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
Oversee the scheduling and routing of shipments to ensure timely
delivery of goods. Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies to
leverage emerging technologies and methodologies. Lead, train, and
develop the international transportation team to achieve
departmental goals. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as
procurement, distribution, and supply chain teams to ensure a
cohesive operational strategy. Strong negotiation skills with a
proven track record in reducing transportation costs. Excellent
leadership and team management abilities. In-depth knowledge of
international logistics, including customs regulations,
import/export, and global trade compliance. Proficient with
Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and related IT platforms.
Ability to analyze data and use insights to improve processes.
Superb communication and interpersonal skills. Medical Insurance
