Job Description:
Position Summary/ Department Summary: Nurse Practitioner,
Inpatient Pain Team This is role is considered a flex role where
the provider will be covering known leave of absence in designated
areas. With time this role could turn into a role that has one
primary focus. Key Responsibilities: - Providing care to infants,
children, adolescents, young adults with pain from acute and
chronic illnesses or those weaning sedatives after a recent
critical illness in the inpatient setting. - Collaborating with an
interdisciplinary team to conduct patient assessments, medical
histories, physical exams and develop a plan of care based on the
source of pain and patient needs. - Facilitating collaboration with
members of the multidisciplinary team and other consulting services
to provide comprehensive care for optimal patient outcomes. -
Participating in quality and safety initiatives and research. -
Providing consultation and education to staff members, patients and
families as needed on pertinent topics - 40 hours per week, less
than 50% day/night rotation, 12-hour shifts, with every 4th weekend
Minimum Qualifications Education: - A Master’s Degree in Nursing
Experience: - 3-5 years’ experience in a pediatric setting, ideally
with a pediatric intensive care background - Excellent critical
thinking and communication skills are required Licensure/
Certifications: - A current MA NP license - BLS and PALS
certification This role offers a competitive sign?on bonus ranging
from $5,000 to $20,000, based on your experience. bchAPP The posted
pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith
expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer
provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications,
and a variety of other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of
