Assistant Behavioral Health Director is a full-time role and will
provide outpatient mental/ behavioral health psychotherapy to
patients of the Health Center, supporting the department by
providing clinical supervision and oversite, as well as assisting
with the workflows and administrative needs of the behavioral
health department. The Assistant Behavioral Health Director will
hold the credential of Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
(LICSW) and serve as part of the behavioral health leadership team.
Essential Functions: Provide psychotherapy to patients at the
health center and in other settings as assigned. Provide
consultation, assessment, and evaluation on an urgent, emergency,
and routine basis during regular health center hours. Provide
on-call coverage on a rotating basis to relevant providers and
patients of the health center regarding mental/behavioral health
issues. Maintain necessary clinical paperwork and other
documentation as required by department and health center policies
and protocols. Provide consultation to medical providers as well as
to other programs of the health center regarding mental/ behavioral
health issues. Provide patient advocacy, outreach, and education in
the community as appropriate. Adhere to all department protocols
regarding patient care. Perform other duties and work on special
projects as assigned by the supervisor including attendance at
requested department, center, and outside meetings and/or
trainings. Supports a work environment that is responsive and
sensitive to the needs of a diverse staff and patient population.
Contributes and is an active part of a positive and professional
team, supporting our Mission Statement. Carries a patient caseload
with the expectation of 60% clinical patient care and 40%
supervisory and administrative role. Communicates and works
effectively with patients from various ethnic and cultural
backgrounds. Flexes variable work hours to accommodate the needs of
patients and necessary to meet funding/ budgetary demands of the
position. Provides weekly supervision as requested to MA level,
MSW, LCSW, LICSW, or other psychotherapist types and students.
Manage clinician coverage of cases as needed related to staff
callouts. Manage provider caseload including waitlists & case
assignments. Organize and engage both psychotherapists and
psychiatry teams in completing an annual Utilization Review. Assist
in supporting, oversite, and addressing clinical complex and risk
cases, patient clinical emergency, and urgent patient needs. Help
manage new referrals, workflow and assignments. Address and respond
to patient concerns and complaints as they may arise. Assist with
leading staff meetings and managing case review processes. When
needed provide coverage and consultation for the department as a
contact for the Behavioral Health Department and the Health
center’s Behavioral Health needs, especially when the Vice
President and Director of Behavioral Health are off site/
unavailable. Connect with Masters of Social Work programs to engage
Masters level students for internships within the Behavioral Health
Department. Assist with managing administrative related tasks and
act as a liaison to Colleges and Universities whose students are
learners at EMK. Help to organize and provide training for MSW
students within the health center. Assist in planning and provide
training opportunities for the Behavioral Health Department. Assist
in the vetting, interviewing, and hiring process of new candidates
for the Behavioral Health Department. Provide BH orientation/
onboarding and training for new staff within the Behavioral Health
Department. Assist the VP of BH and the Director of BH with grant
management and reporting. Assist with the review and development of
BH clinical protocols and policies. Performs other duties as
assigned. Education and Experience: · Active, unrestricted
Massachusetts license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social
Worker (LICSW) · 3 to 5 years of relevant experience · Excellent
