Job Description:

Encompass Health Corporation, a leader in integrated healthcare services, seeks an experienced Lead Dietitian for our inpatient rehabilitation facility. As a Lead Dietitian, you will play a crucial role in managing our nutrition department, developing patient dietary care plans, and leading initiatives to enhance the dietary services provided at our facilities. This position involves working closely with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal nutritional care as part of overall recovery and health management. Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling. Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care tailored to the individual needs of patients. Lead, recruit, and train the nutrition department staff, ensuring high standards of care and service. Administer medical nutrition therapy as needed and document patients' progress and dietary routines. Stay informed on the latest nutritional science research and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care. Conduct regular meetings and reviews to continually improve the service quality of the nutrition department. Oversee the management of food service operations and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Expert knowledge of clinical nutrition and the ability to develop nutrition plans Leadership and team management Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the state of practice
