skills Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed Description: Unit
has 12 beds. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are preferred.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-6. The electronic medical record
system used is CPSI. There is a Charge Nurse who typically does not
take patients but is available to assist as needed. Nurse Aides are
present on each shift. Weekend requirements are every third
weekend, with possible additional requirements as needed. Holidays
are rotated with permanent staff. Any color scrubs are acceptable
as long as they are appropriate and professional. Patients are
monitored through central telemetry. Nurses are required to read
and interpret strips without assistance. RNs are able to titrate
drips, as this is a low-level ICU setting. Common drips include
heparin, nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin. Ventiliation
management is not expected on the inpatient unit. Nurses conduct
treatments such as BIPAP and other non-ventilator therapies. There
is no IV team; providers place PICC lines during the day. Strong IV
skills are preferred. A pharmacist is available until 3 PM, with
telepharmacy on call. Day pharmacists typically prepare night
medications. Nurses may be required to mix medications if new
orders are received after hours. Shifts run from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.
Floating may be required within the facility based on position and
qualifications. Types of patients include CHF, COPD, pneumonia,
cardiac arrhythmias, and sepsis. Most surgical patients are
transferred out, with a surgeon available two days per week. This
is a friendly, team-oriented facility. Strong teamwork and
flexibility are essential for this role. Candidates must be willing
to work as needed. No cancellation policy is in place. The charting
system is TruBridge - Evident. A BSN is not required for this
