We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Category Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving a consumer-centric culture through Category, Merchandising, and Pricing (CMP) responsibilities. The Category Manager will manage performance for assigned categories and develop and execute customer-focused category plans.

What we ask of you:

Category Management & Strategy:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive category plans that are customer focused
    • Drive a consumer-centric culture through strategic Category, Merchandising, and Pricing (CMP) initiatives
      • Analyze market trends and consumer insights to inform category strategy and innovation

        Performance Management:
        • Monitor and manage performance metrics for assigned categories
          • Utilize data-driven insights to drive category growth and profitability
            • Implement strategies to improve category performance and achieve financial targets

              Pricing & Assortment:
              • Oversee pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability
                • Manage product assortment and selection to meet customer needs and preferences
                  • Identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation

                    Vendor Relationships:
                    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, brokers, and third-party consultants
                      • Negotiate terms and agreements to secure favorable outcomes for the company
                        • Collaborate with vendors to drive category growth and innovation

                          Talent Planning & Team Development:
                          • Lead and develop a high-performing team
                            • Conduct talent planning, performance management, and succession planning
                              • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture

                                Thought Leadership:
                                • Stay informed/up to date of industry trends, best practices, and competitive landscape
                                  • Provide thought leadership and category expertise to drive innovation
                                    • Share insights and knowledge with internal stakeholders


                                      What you bring to the table:
                                      • 5-8 years of Category Management experience
                                        • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
                                          • Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
                                            • Extensive knowledge of applicable practice areas, such as Fresh or Center Store categories
                                              • Proven negotiation experience and relationship management with vendors, brokers, and third-party consultants
                                                • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
                                                  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
                                                    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
                                                      • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment and manage travel requirements (8-12%)
