Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Director of Risk
Management to join our thriving medical organization. The
successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the
organization's risk management program. This includes identifying
potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, developing
and implementing corrective action plans for resolution of
problematic issues, and providing general guidance on how to avoid
or deal with similar situations in the future.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement the organization's risk management program
in a manner that fulfills the mission and strategic goals of the
organization while complying with state and federal laws and
regulations related to healthcare risk management.
2. Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk;
develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of
problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or
deal with similar situations in the future.
3. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Quality Assurance,
Human Resources, Operations, etc.) to direct compliance issues to
appropriate channels for investigation and resolution.
4. Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies,
procedures, and Standards of Conduct by evaluating or recommending
the initiation of investigative procedures.
5. Develop and oversee a system for uniform handling of such
violations.
6. Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that
compliance Issues/concerns within the organization are being
appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
7. Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed or
requested, to keep the Corporate Compliance Committee and senior
management informed of the operation and progress of compliance
efforts.
8. Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to
duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or
required.
9. Institute and maintain an effective compliance communication
program for the organization, including promoting (a) use of the
Compliance Hotline; (b) heightened awareness of Standards of
Conduct, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance
issues and related policies and procedures.
10. Work with the Human Resources Department and others as
appropriate to develop an effective compliance training program,
including appropriate introductory training for new employees as
well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business
Administration or related field required. Master's degree
preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare organization,
with demonstrated leadership and management skills.
3. Proven experience in healthcare risk management, compliance, and
regulatory affairs.
4. Knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and standards.
5. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
8. Certification in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or Certified
Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
9. Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to sensitive
inquiries or complaints.
10. Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions.
