Job Description Job Title: Lead, Global Project Portfolio Management and Strategy (Hybrid) Location: Cambridge, MA Hybrid: Work remote, but must be able to be on site 2 days per week About the role: The core purpose of the Lead, Global Project Portfolio Management and Strategy is to Design, develop, and implement portfolio management capabilities and business processes across a global operations organization of > 34 Manufacturing sites and center functions Implementing these capabilities with a focus on the associated change management, communication strategy, and execution plans for the center function Project Portfolio Management Office Ensure the global portfolio management systems, processes, and tools capture and address the needs of local customers, stakeholders, and patients Design and deliver strategic portfolio reports & presentations- (must be comfortable presenting to various groups and senior leaders within GMS (Global Manufacturing Supply) for the top identified Strategic Programs/Projects across the network Establish and implement global standard KPIs for project and portfolio status to measure performance of the global project portfolio How you will contribute: Deliver strategic portfolio reports to senior leaders within GMS (Global Manufacturing Supply) for the top identified Strategic Programs/Projects across the network Designs and ensures enthusiastic implementation of standard best-known-methods across the global constellation of GMS PMOs Drives rapid and value-added consensus in a complex, highly-cross functional environment Capable of independently and accurately representing complex issues to myriad stakeholders Provides scenario analysis for complex issues with significant business impact Communicates project and portfolio risks, opportunities, and options to the most senior leaders in GMS Able to garner credibility and support across the organization through influence Acts as an advisor to PM staff, coaching on problem solving approaches, methods, tools and techniques Performs methodical data analysis and insights to underpin all recommendations; able to explain and justify rationale Partner with internal functions, including Capital Engineering, IT, Product Operations, and Finance, to ensure cross-functional value is delivered as the enterprise evolves and improves. Establish and maintain a global Portfolio Management community of practice Develop and execute the global communication plan for the center-function Portfolio Management Office Directly design and implement the continuous improvement processes for the PPMO electronic and business systems, processes, and tools. (Experience with the following tool, or others like them, is a plus: Smartsheets, Planview, Clarizen, Proggio) What you bring to Takeda: Education / experience Minimum of a four year Bachelors Degree, preferably in engineering, life sciences, or business (or equivalent experience) Master---s Degree in a technical discipline and/or MBA is a big plus. Minimum 6 years Project Management experience including 2 years of Portfolio Management experience, and 4 years in industrial operations. Biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience desirable. Core Competencies / Skills Outstanding communication skills including the ability to interact with all levels of management including the most senior leaders in GMS. Must be able to tailor communications to deliver the same content to vastly different audiences. Proven ability to make meaningful contributions with a minimum of ---spin up--- time. Must be able to directly link, and articulate to others, portfolio management capability to strategy. Functions well under pressure in a changing environment. Uses independent judgment to identify, plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload as required. Must be proficient in the application of MS Project. Must be excellent with PowerPoint and able to both perform and consume analysis with Excel (VBA experience a plus). Experience with enterprise PPM software a plus. In this role, you may: Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas. Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment. Work in a cold, wet environment. Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary. Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection. Some, but limited domestic and/or international travel.
