world. The Raytheon Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization leads
the mechanical hardware design, development and production of
radar, sonar, torpedo, and combat system equipment. The ME Team
uses state-of the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon’s
CORE principles. ME’s capabilities encompass a broad range of
technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing,
technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and
documentation. The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department
leads mechanical design, development, and integration of platform
systems. This includes shelter systems, hardware integration, cable
& interconnections, as well as facility development, and site
integration. The department is comprised of individuals with
technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration,
and production support. The ADGE department is looking for a
full-time Principal Mechanical Engineer – Section Lead, located in
Tewksbury, MA. This is an onsite role . The Section Leader is
responsible for management of the engineering staff supporting
design and development of the Patriot BMC4I shelters major
components and sub-assemblies, including obsolescence upgrades,
procurement and supplier support. They and their direct reports
will support the design, equipment integration, major end item
development, vendor support, and sustainment of the existing
equipment. The individual will support and lead multi-disciplined
engineering teams and provide mechanical solutions and services
across all program phases including proposal development. Areas of
focus can encompass development of next generation Patriot BMC4I
shelters, design development for existing shelter components and
sub-assemblies, transition to production, product support, vendor
oversight, and field upgrades. What You Will Do Provide guidance on
Raytheon expectations for design rigor, level of TDP & MDP
documentation required, typical analysis approach, and other
similar topics. Ensure the suppliers are successful in completing
major design and production reviews on schedule. Represent Shelter
section in PDR, CDR, including ensuring design is manufacturable
for multiple new MEIs. Lead EAC review, proposal review and closely
track and maintain the program schedule and cost. Mentor and train
the new engineers by providing technical guidance and project
support throughout the product life cycle. Work with shelter
production team, suppliers and Raytheon subject matter experts as
required to resolve any design and production issues. Collaborate
with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and
suppliers to develop robust design solutions and resolve technical
challenges. Lead and participate in design peer reviews and conduct
trade studies to promote sound technical decisions. Apply knowledge
and experience in technical problem solving and hardware
development in an engaged team environment. Experience with leading
a team for Drawing generation, drawing release, and drawing change
incorporation. Support the factory and suppliers with product
integration domestically and internationally. Meet commitments for
assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals. Qualifications
You Must Have Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a
related technical degree and 8 years of experience in a Mechanical
Engineering role with minimum four (4) years designing and
developing mechanical equipment, preferably for use in Military
environments. Experience leading engineering teams with cost and
schedule responsibility. Experience in mechanical design,
development, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with managing engineering budgets with Earned Value
Management (EVMS), Estimate at Complete (EAC) process,
supporting/leading proposals and/or Risk & Opportunity Management.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S.
citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a
security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer Mechanical design
experience, including concept definition through detailed design
and transition to production and production support. Experience in
supporting or leading proposals. Familiarity with USG gate review
process, having preferably been a previous hardware lead who
participated in reviews Experience with Risk & Opportunity
Management. Engineering project management experience with schedule

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work
primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance
employees, as they are essential to the development of our
products. This position requires security clearance. DCSA
Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS) , an agency of the
Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security

for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range
provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience
levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer,
