The Safety Specialist plays a key role in promoting and enforcing a
culture of safety across all electrical construction projects. This
individual is responsible for implementing safety programs,
conducting site inspections, training employees, and ensuring
compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and all applicable federal, state,
and local safety regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive,
detail-oriented, and committed to continuously improving workplace
safety and reducing risk. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular
job-site safety audits and inspections across active electrical
construction projects. Monitor and enforce compliance with company
safety policies, OSHA standards, and industry best practices. Lead
incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action
plans. Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training programs for
field personnel, foremen, and supervisors. Creation, review, and
implementation of project-specific safety plans (SSPs), Job Hazard
Analyses (JHAs), and lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure proper use
of PPE, fall protection systems, and safe work practices related to
energized work. Maintain safety documentation, reports, and records
in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements. Coordinate
with project managers and field leaders to resolve safety issues
and promote jobsite safety awareness. Track and report safety KPIs,
including TRIR, near misses, and leading indicators. Stay current
on changes in safety regulations and industry trends to enhance
company safety programs. Requirements: Qualifications: · 5 years of
experience in construction safety, preferably in electrical
contracting. · OSHA 30 certification required; CHST, STS-C, or CSP
preferred. · Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926, NFPA 70E, and
electrical safety standards. · Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills. · Ability to travel regularly to jobsites. ·
Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
